Carbon Conscious Certification
Our carbon conscious certification process is for businesses who want to be certified as a carbon conscious company. The process comprises three steps:
1. Footprint Measurement
Measurement is undertaken by Cawthron in accordance with the highest international standards: the GHG Protocol for corporate accounting and reporting, and ISO 14064-1. Measurement scope (the boundaries of what will be measured) is determined with clients during our consultative process.
2. Carbon Management Strategies
This fundamental step in the process will involve the documentation of emissions and the identification of reduction initiatives. We will assist you to develop management strategies and set specific reduction targets for the twelve month certification period.
3. Offsetting of Unavoidable Emissions
Offsetting is achieved through the purchase of carbon credits. At Offset the Rest we follow strict project criteria and only invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects that prevent greenhouse gas emissions at the source, and therefore assist in building a low carbon economy. We choose to invest in Gold Standard projects, the world's premium standard for generating verified carbon credits for the voluntary market.
On the completion of the certification process your company will achieve carbon conscious certification in accordance with the terms and conditions of Offset the Rest. Our carbon conscious certification logo will be available for your use in company publications and internet site.

It is important to note our existing customers who have been certified carbon neutral still hold valid certification status.
