Jane graduated from Canterbury University with an LLB(Hons)/BA.  Over a twelve year period Jane worked first as a lawyer for one of New Zealand’s leading law firms, and subsequently as a Commercial Manager for Telecom NZ Limited.

Melissa returned to New Zealand from the UK in 2004 with six years experience as a Risk Manager for an international investment bank, focusing on resource finance in emerging markets.  Prior to leaving for the UK, Melissa was employed for seven years by a high profile New Zealand bank as both an Auditor and Commercial Account Manager.     

Jane and Melissa have spent the majority of their respective careers analysing and mitigating risk, and believe climate change to represent the most significant risk of all.  Offset the Rest was conceived in direct response to this challenge, and over the last three years has been successfully used by Melissa and Jane as a vehicle for education, information, and action.

Their backgrounds in risk analysis confirm their belief that carbon consultancies such as Offset the Rest that operate with the highest environmental integrity and transparency, facilitate genuine, and necessary, emission reductions that benefit us globally.
